Copper futures trade lower on global cues

Copper futures traded lower on MCX, as traders muted their buys followed by a weaker trend overseas due to heightened fears of a trade war that could derail global growth after US President Donald Trump said he would push ahead with his plan to impose heavy tariffs on steel and aluminium imports.

The contract for April delivery was trading at Rs 452.20, dipped by 0.58% or Rs 2.65 from its previous closing of Rs 454.85. The April open interest of the contract stood at 10293 lots.

The contract for june delivery was trading at Rs 455.70, down by 0.56% or Rs 2.55 from its previous closing of Rs 458.25. The open interest of the contract stood at 334 lots on MCX.
